factory reset without old app reinstall

hi, i tried to factory reset my xperia z1 phone, because i had some issues with some apps installed. but when i logged in my google account, again the same old apps started downloading and being installed. is there a way to clean install with the factory apps the z1? without downloading the old apps? of course i need my google account because of the contacts. thank you

You probably have Google sync enabled so things like Contacts or apps etc will auto reinstall - There is an option to turn this off in Settings then open your Google account then Sync options and untick the one's you don't want to auto sync
