Facebook Sync Problems

A few days ago, my phone stopped syncing with Facebook, bringing up an unable to sync notification and asking to be authorised again. Nothing appears to have resolved the issue (unlinking the account, re-authorising, removing the app from facebook and re-connecting). There is a long discussion on Sony Ericsson's Facebook page relating to the problem which appears to be affecting all Xperia's with facebook inside.

Has anyone else found a solution? I can only presume SE or Fb has changed a setting preventing the phone from Syncing.

Its ok, I am having the same problem here in the UK... I think it might have something to do with the Facebook Sync being updated to 2.0 (which is part of the 2.3.4 update) not being compatible with the older 1.0 version that all 2.3.3 customers are using... Sounds to me that the Firmware will be released very soon and will work fine after the switch!!!

yep I have the same problems. Xperia Arc...I just turned off the Facebook (Inside Xperia) function because it was annoying me!

Ahhh so that is the solution, it's been annoying me too.  I just uninstalled Facebook updates via the market to see if that helped but I have just been in to Account's and Sync and can see a red exclamation mark by the Facebook inside items so have unticked them.

I am awaiting the 2.3.4 update too, so hopefully resolved when that comes out.

Yes, I too was getting the same annoying sync messages. As I am on the X10, I don't suppose I will see the update that would enable the latest version if Facebook to work properly, but I not one of life's synchers, so hey...

Gah. Turning off the sync doesn't stop me getting those messages. Odd...

for what it's worth everyone, my 2.3.4 update has meant that i have had no issues/error messages from FB inside Xperia....it works fine.

Although it does consume a bit more battery than is required.

It would be nice to be able to have more control over the frequency of the Sync

I'm a new user.

The  phone is on Android 2.3.4 and the Build is 4.0.2.a.0.42 (which I think is the latest) and I'm still getting this error with Facebook Sync.

Had it twice this morning. Starting to get annoying now.
