Emergency Calls only

Hi Folks. I have an Experia E3. The screen is locked onto Emergency calls. It is recieving data as it pings as normal so I know the SIM is working. I have looked at previous messages and note that PC Companion may be able to repair my phone however I have not managed to back up my photos and these will be lost of I complete this process. Is there any other way I can restore my screen without losing my stuff? I have tried to reboot by switching the off button at the back and no luck.

As an aside, this happened after I put the phone into my bag alongside a Hudl. It was working perfectly up to that point and indeed I was in the process of data transfer etc when I had to stop what I was doing and leave the house in a hurry.

Any help is greatfully appreciated.

Did you have a screen lock pin or some other security setting which may have been entered wrong causing this

Not as I recall. It was 5 days ago that this happened and I was doing all sorts of stuff on the phone. I did set a pin that is for sure but it is not one I would put in by mistake.

I can only assume this is the cause for your locked device as it is usually the reason - I can't say for sure this will work but you could try logging into MyXperia from a Pc then select you device then select Lock and type in a 4 digit pin which will then need to be entered onto your phone - If it works then great and if not then I'm sorry to say but a system repair will be required meaning all data will be erased

So... Full system repair it was. Took all night as my internet is really slow. Now starting again. Oh joy......
