Android OS battery drain (D6503)?

So when I opened up my battery usage I noticed that Android OS was at 70% usage (69% now in screenshots).  I check my battery usage several times throughout the day and Android OS was not consuming 70%.  It seemed to spike to 70% consumption, which points to an error in battery usage charts.

So Android OS suddenly spiked to 70% consumption upon checking and was not like this since it was off charger.

Notice the CPU total is 1 day 3 hours versus the 1 day 8 hours on battery which leaves a 5 hour period unaccounted for.  I believe it was 2:30am and took my phone off the charger before going to sleep and waking up at around 7 or 8am (when I would begin using my phone for the day).

The steeper drops at the beginning and toward the end can be attributed to the poor reception areas I was in and my heavier screen on time during those periods.  The flat portion in the middle is when I went to bed and left my phone for about 8 hours.  Notice there are no huge wake locks during my time off battery.

This is my current screen on time if it helps at all.

I'm guessing this is an error with the battery usage calculator but I'm not completely sure. Could someone let me know if this is an error with the battery usage or is Android OS really consuming 70% and how I should fix it?

Thanks in advance!

Could you upload the pictures on box or dropbox and post the links here? as we can't see them until they are approved by a Sony moderator

You could boot on safe mode for few hours and see if you experience the same issue

It seems that an app its creating this issue, since you leave WiFi on, perhaps the apps are being auto updated or G+ its backing up your pictures

I always leave my WiFi on and the issue has only appeared just now so I don't think that would be it.  I've disabled all my accounts and sync settings (I never use them in the first place), I update my apps manually as well.

That's quite odd, let me know if safe mode work, if it does then its a third party app acting up.

I'm almost certain that its a third party app.

If that doesn't work then repair your phone with PCC

Bridge (for Mac)

Hello, the 70% usage of your Android OS might be a common issue. Whenever I unplug my phone when fully charged, it also uses some services or apps more than usual, but after a while it goes away and I don't really notice a steap battery drainage. I hope you don't have any huge battery draining issues Slightly_smiling_Face
