Email not syncing correctly

Hi everyone. I seem to have a problem syncing my pop3 email. Although it downloads fine to the Z1 once read and any no longer needed deleted, when I then download the remaining messages to my laptop   the emails don't get removed from the Z1.

This problem has only occurred since upgrading up 4.3 !!

Sony Xperia is a rocking phone, I love it, but it's default email client is such a **bleep**... All the time since I got Xperia S there were only problems with the email - it synced whenever it wanted, and when it didn't want - it didn't sync. Suddenly in the middle of the night it would throw me out of bed by starting beeping loud as **bleep** only to inform that some old messages got randomly synced over to the phone. Now the same **bleep** with Xperia Z... Luckily I work together with some mobile apps developers at www.it-stars.no and I asked them whether they do something with this stupid app which they did, by somehow uninstalling it from the root. Now I live without email. My friends abandoned me and I became cut-off from social life. I got a long and busty beard with crumbs and other **bleep** in it. I then moved out to the woods. Squirrels are my only company now. Thank you SONY !

POP accounts don't really sync, have you tried changing it to IMAP?

This is the solution to the problem. Switch to IMAP and it syncs perfectly. Just be careful however as if you delete an email on your phone you also delete it off the server.

Upgrading to version 5.0.2 on my Compact Z1 has given me with a similar problem. It takes a very long time to delete emails. Can anybody suggest a solution please?

git the same issue but with my Z5.  receieve it on the laptop, would delte of my samsung S6 but not on my Z5.  how can fix this?
