E4g problems

Bought my wife a Xperia E4g in July but now the phone will not fire up! It is charged but after holding the 'on' button the initial screen appears with background music, then net work provider logo screen, then one buzz and screen goes blank :-(( Phone doesn't start up but buzzes a few times then is dead. Have used both wall and USB chargers to see if top charge need, however all that happens is the red charge light is on and the screen flashing Xperia Sony start up screen.
After reading the trouble shooting section on this site I took the back off and pressed the stop button and followed the advice but just the same failed start up :-((( Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Salford,

Welcome to the community,

This is unfortunate, in this case I suggest that you attempt a software repair on the device to help resolve this issue.

Here's how to run the repair on PC Companion:
1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
2. Phone Software Update.
3. Start.
4. Repair Phone
5. Continue
6. Accept data removal
7. Next
8. Wait for prepare
9. Select Phone
10. Follow the connection steps

And Bridge for Mac:
1. Launch Bridge for MAC without the handset connected.
2. On the Main Window select "Xperia > Repair Xperia Device".
3. Ensure the phone is charged and select "Ok" in the following window.
4. Select Continue on the following page.
5. Wait until the initialising step is finished the continue as below.
6 . Select your model of phone from the list that appears
7. Follow the connection steps that appear, ensuring that you are holding the relevant button down before during and after the connection phase until the update/repair begins.

Well, assuming the guys at O2 tested it properly with the appropriate Sony charger then problem can only be your adapter or charger, maybe even the cable if it's damaged in any way. Maybe try borrowing from someone who has one to try.
As for buying it, price depends on where you live. A localized Sony dealer should have it, or you can order online from Sony or other shops . Google the model (Ep800) and you will find it.
BTW, where is the original charger you got with the phone did you lose it?

Ive been using a Sony, Samsung and Asda own brand charger wiv Sony USB lead so far without trouble, i tried a friends iphone charger last week and the noti led started to flash and the battery icon wiv percentage inside turned red, i tried numerous cables and still had this fault, i then tried another charger wiv fixed cable (think it was for a blackberry, if not it will have been an iPhone charger or spurious compatible one) same fault. Fearing I'd introduced this problem i unplugged it and couldn't wait to get home to try my usual chargers, which was business as usual everything working fine. So think its best to stay away from other manufacturers Chargers, and stick to Sony, local markets n Carboot sales av piles of em, if ur strapped for cash, just make sure the seller demonstrates its working fine on his own mobile first lol
