When I receive an email with attachment, my sony Z3 will automaically download the attachment in the background but the download cannot be stopped. It keep running at the background which then ends up in using most of the memory, then other aplications are killed. Last time I kill the download application and restart the phone twice (download resume after first restart of phone). The problem happens again. How can I stop the download at the background?
I have this problem as well. Downloads are constantly stuck in the Download Manager. I can go to the Download Manager and Clear Data then Force Stop it which gets rid of that notification but then another one comes right back up.
I've not noticed any memory issues as you mention but it is quite annoying to constantly have a notification about a download that will never finish. There is an option to not show notifications from the Download Manager but I feel this doesn't solve the problem just hides it.
Encountering the same problem. The download process keeps showing in the notification bar even the attachment is already downloaded. To get rid of this annoying notification, just go ahead to hide it by going to "Settings" -> "Personalisation" -> "Manage notifications" -> uncheck "Download Manager". Of course, you will never know the status of all other downloads after turning this off --- kind of trade-off :smileysad:. Anyone has a better idea or solution?:smileyconfused:
I have the same problem, I keep trying to force stop download manager, but it comes up again, after many forcing stop download manager, and force stop to gmail it ends, but it is very annoying.
Same here,,,
Hopefully it will be fixed on new update.
Sorry to hear that you're having issues with attachments.
I've been testing this here but i can't find any issue with downloading attachments. Does this happen with certain attachments or very large attachments?
If you receive alot of large attachments and don't want them downloaded automatically you can go you Email -> [menu] -> Settings -> [your account] and disable "Auto-download attachments". To download an attachment you will then need to tap it in the email.
I also have the exact same problem
I am having the same problem as well and it happens to my Gmail, it will happen when I send out emails with photo attachment then it keep downloading those photos one by one.
So imagine I have attached 4 photos in that email which I send out, it will keep downloading those 4 photos non-stop so I have to clear the data in the Download Manager then reset the phone for each photo it tried to download.
It is very irritating and there is no option to disable download of attachment in Gmail, I have attached a screenshot below :
I have the same problem - after conducting a search in the Gmail app, it turns out that the phone is trying to download images in several e-mails (not attachments but parts of the message) recently sent to me (screenshot below).
This is very irritating... Please fix!
