Download and save Google documents

I keep quite a few notes in Google Documents and it is easy to sync them to my Xperia Ray, but whem I am out and about I can only view then when I have an internet connection.

Does anyone know if it is possible to download and save Google documents to my Xperia Ray so I can view them without using the internet?

You should be able to do that using Google docs and opening the document > press menu key > file > save as > chose your local path and save it.

I have tried this but after opening document and pressing menu key there is not an option to save as.

From that menu my only options are Refresh  Share  or Send Feedback.
