Disable Charging LED

Is there any way of disabling the Charging LED?

Only a small gripe as it's quite bright and lights up my ceiling while I'm trying to grab some sleep.

Same for me actually, Samsung had a blocking mode which allowed me to disable notifications abd LED during the night

Hi,

Who allowed to design such bright notification LED for charging mode? This thing shines like a torch when my phone is charging next to my bed. I can't sleep with this thing shining, I have to put a book on the phone so the led is covered. This need to be addressed, Hard to believe no one at Sony didn't see this issue coming, really, I mean, we don't really like to have a light turned on when sleeping.

I guess a lot of people have this problem as we all tend to use our phones as alarm clocks, so this is very common use case to have phone charing on night table by the bed. Please add option to disable this led for charging and also for fully charged status.

Greetings,

Luke

I agree. I've stopped charging at night because of that bright green floodlight until I can work out a sensible way of blocking it Slightly_frowning_Face

Same problem here!

Hopefully Sony can provide a solution for this. Seems like it should just be a simple option to disable it.

I have the same problem and it's driving me nuts!

On top of it, I bought Sony's overpriced docking station to use it by my bed stand which makes the issue even worse as now the stupid LED is directed straight at my face which means I can't use it until the issue is sorted...

I cannot believe nobody thought of it! This is ridiculous! I will be calling Sony's support helpline and sending complaints until they sort it out. Especially that I'm general I love this phone and it's by far the best smartphone I ever owned.

Er, I have to confess to using basic measures - a small chunk of blue tack works a treat...

The sad thing from this is that there is no one at Sony that will spot such things and fix them before the phone gets released, like it would happen at Apple. Other thing is that someone that designed that feature didn't think about user experience and usability but about form, that tells a lot too.

Yeah, I thought about sticking something there but the LED and a speaker share the same spot. If I cover LED I would also cover the speaker. I don't really want to stick something there every evening...
