Dialer Number Format

When i try to dial a number from the dialer or when i receive a call from a number that is not in my phonebook. my X10 shows the number in 000-000-00000 format, that format doesnt suit me i am having a hard time understanding the number i either want to change the format for the dashes (to xxxx-xxx-xxxx or xxxx-xxxxxxx) or remove them alltogether. how can i change that?

It basically depends on what you have set as your location I believe.

In Menu>Settings>Loacale & Text you set where you are in the world, for example I have just changed my UK location to US and tried adding a contact.  In my UK version it just gives one long string 01234567890  where as when I started inputting under the US location settings it gave me 012-345-67890.

that worked thanks. but i guess i got lucky. because if i choose my country it also changes the language but i wanted to use the phone in english. i had english(us) set luckily, english (uk) didnt have those dashes.

thanks a lot again.

No worries, I didn't try any other language to see what options it gave you (had a nasty fright with my phone when I first got it... managed to set it up to a very foreign language... sorted by removing sim and battery then putting back in and took me back to the select location thing)

Thanks, this will give me some reprieve from this little annoyance.
