Data Connection Problem

i have a problem with the data connection.

i use a 2G data connection. when i connect i get the E symbol. but there is no data tranfer happening.

once i restart my moble this problem gets solved. this problem happens every 3-4 day. this forces me to restart my mobile every 3-4 days.

i'm coming across this problem after i updated my Ray to ICS 403. even after updating to ics 404 the problem is not solved.

then abt the overall bugs in ics,

1. LED notification not working for SMS, missed calls(but working for ms exchange, and some other apps)

2. compass not working in google maps. but compass works with google sky map.

3. when i back up my contacts to the memory card, after 60% i get an unknow error and the process stops.

We generally recommend you to always make sure to restart your phone at least two times a week, so keep up with that first of all.

If you only get Edge-network and have been able to use 3G and such previously, try with a new SIM from your operator to see if it has any affection. Contact your carrier for info of how to easiest get hold of a new SIM.

Generally i use the use GSM only option in settings. After getting this problem i tried to use the WCDMA only option. Then i get H symbol and in status of my phone, i even get the IP address for my phone, but data transfer does not happen. I usally restart my mobile once a week after updating all the softwares by the end of the week. but this problem makes me restart my phone when i'm in middle of some work.

Sorry to hear about the issue.

I'd still recommend you though to try with another SIM as mentioned in the previous post to see if it might affect the complication. Fingers crossed.
