data connection is losing

I am using sony live with walkman with android 2.3.4. My phone keeps losing the data connection randomly.data icon does not even appear in the notification bar.I do have phone connectivity. Data is enabled in settings as is Background data. sometime it gets restored. but dont know when data icon appears.

You could try using another (newer) SIM card to see if it helps. If not, a software repair via PC Companion would be another option for you to try.
