cracked screen - the biggest disappointment ever in a phone

when I bought my xperia Z3 I had high hopes. red my gsmarena reviews. huge battery, nice design, etc.

Then my kid dropped it from his height...30-40 cms? the screen received from one crash about 10 scratches...I could not believe it. After samsung S4, which barely had any margins left because of the falls BUT NO SCRATCH on the screen...this...and a premium phone...

I paid about 600 euro. huge money in my country (Romania) and this was 2 weeks after the purchase... I JUST COULD NOT BELIEVE.

than today i dropped it once more...also about 40-50 cm (when i got out from the car, dropped it)

the screen cracked! I JUST COULD NOT BELIEVE. there are forum posts on the xperia forums saying that it has gorilla glass or some other similar glass...this is no resistant glass. it s just simple glass...premium phone....

i will go tomorrow to service and see if they change it and maybe it was a mistaken series or something....

i just cannot believe a PREMIUM phone is such poor quality

i feel robbed, i feel defrauded...i feel tricked

I WILL NEVER BUY A SONY PRODUCT AGAIN IF i dont receive either a quality product or money back!

Greetings

I am a new Xperia user and while it is fantastic phone it has a major flaw which has really disappointed me, My opinion below aimed at Sony

Dear Sony

I hope my complaint finds you, 2 weeks after I bought my Xperia Z3  the phone fell down 15cm from the ground, and a spider crack appeared on my screen. I really find it extremely disappointing that a product of Sony is so fragile and cracks so easily, and I am really sorry that I have to compare by Sony Experience to Samsung.

I have had owned 4 Samsung galaxy phones all fell and never had I had a cracked screen, I even dropped my galaxy S4 from at least a meter on the the ground without having it crack.

I quick internet search reveals how many Xperia users have suffered the same faith, its no secret at how weak the xperia range of screens are.

I would like to know what warranties are in place for users like me ? I directed this complaint to Sony only as I believe my service provider is going to blame this on me.

Users spend a lot of money and we do not and cannot accept a poor quality product.

Sony Please address this matter as you have a reputation to uphold!!!!

Hi all I broke, my screen on my z3 less than a month into ownership. Previous phone was a Z1 and prior was an Xperia ion. All phones Ive owned for over a year each with no issues. was bummed that my phone broke and my service provider told me physical damage was not convered. I did not drop it and def did not drop or neglect it. They wanted me to pay $350 for a refurb.

Last hope, call Sony and explain situation. Aside from not getting my return mailer for 2 weeks on my initial call and having to call the repair office a 2nd time and print out my own RMA form then make my way to a purolator office. Phone was sent and returned in a 9day turn around window. No charges. I love Sony and finally have my phone back!

Thanks Sony, Loyal customer here

In December I got my Z3 Xperia on contract via Altech. 2 Weeks later the phone falls from a distance of 30cm from the ground and the screen cracked, touch was not working. I took it to Altech Sandridge square and they refused to fix it under warranty so I paid cash to fix it. Altech fixed it and returned it back.

Then 2 weeks ago the phone fell in my car against my seat and center console and the screen once again cracks and now the touch is not working. My Samsung Galaxy S4 which has fallen down a million times, my kids even throw it around and not once did the screen crack!!! Now Sony, WHY must I keep paying R4000 to have the screen fixed each time it shatters ???

Your product is extremely brittle just look at these Forums at how many like me have suffered this fate!!!

Never will I buy a Sony Product, it costs me money because of their poor quality materials. As a consumer who pays a premium price for a phone I expect nothing but the best of quality, the Z3 is by no means cheap and already costed me more than the phone is worth. I refuse to fix this phone at my cost and Sony can blame me all they want. Bottom line your Z3 is of extremely poor quality.

in fairness there are shock resistant cases you can buy, and the IP certification extends to dust and water only - admittedly, I've dropped mine from higher heights and got away with it, but that's life - people need to take responsibility for their own actions, and stop trying to feign accidental damage which consequently raises the bar for everyone - at least you're honest mind......

The S4 is not waterproof so it doesn't/have to be air tight. The Z3 does have to be air tight .So no gaps between glass and phone. That means flexibility is limited.Bet if you check S6 forum people have already had broken screens
