Could not export data - Backup Contacts Xperia P

Hi,

I am trying to backup the contacts but i get "Could not export data Unknown error" message. (

Any ideas ?

Does this only occur when backing up to the Internal Storage or the SIM card or is it both?

It was in the Internal Storage.

Then i used the software Backup & restore through applications to take a successfull backup.

Later on i retried to take a backup in contacts and completed successfully without any errors.

At last... I have a solution:

I was searching for a month for a solution to this problem, happening in my Xperia S (Stock ICS 4.0.4).

By experimenting I found the solution to this annoying problem.

Go to Settings/Apps and choose the folder named All.

There scroll down until you find Contacts. Choose it and click on Clear data.

I did the same for the next one app: Contacts import. (I don't know if this is really necessary, but this is what I did it anyway and it did no harm.)

Thats all. You're done!

Go to phone, contacts and export your contacts as a vcf file, or take a backup.

Attention: Don't, I repeat DO NOT, clear data in app Contacts storage! This data is all your contacts. If you do it all your contacts will be gone. (Unless, of course, if you would like to erase all your contacts!)
