Hi everyone!
I'm new to this forum. I own an Xperia Arc S LT18i running Android version 2.3.4. Today an error was shown when I tried to add a new contact to my contacts list. The error shown is
"The application Contacts(process.com.sonyericsson.android.socialphonebook) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
The only option shown is "Force Close"
I have tried restarting the phone but no go. I don't use Facebook or Google + on my mobile. I did delete a few apps which came with the mobile such as Xperia Hot shots and Voxer a few days ago. So far, internet has not revealed a solution to the problem for me. Most online forums have stated cause of problem to be Facebook or Google+, both of which I don't use. I would be grateful if someone could identify this problem and suggest a solution.
Thanks in advance 🙂

The problem has vanished!! Either Google corrected any error or my mobile decided to start working, but so far the contacts problem has gone away. Will keep the mobile under observation and hopefully it should continue to work ok. If anything happens will def share it here.
Warm regards
I do not think google fixed it as you did not update google services.Or have you got an update?But that sounds great.
Google has indeed fixed it !
I tried to run a petrol station app and got back a message stating that I needed to install Google Play Services, which I had previously uninstalled to get rid of the contacts app non running issue.
When I installed Google Play Services back again I saw that everything continued to work flawlessly. Then I checked Google Play Services version and it is now 4.4.52 which obviously solves once and for all (hopefully) the problem.
@alexdon
I have not updated anything at all. After your reply about Google Play being updated I just did nothing. But the next day when I tried to access my contacts my mobile allowed it. Perhaps someone else fiddling about with my mobile might have accepted an update! Who knows? But so far all is fine and no further problems!

Good to know your mobile is working fine too! Great! Whatever bug was infecting it has been deleted! Enjoy!
That sounds great.
