My previous phone had Windows Mobile 6.1. One of the things I liked was the fact that the contacts were managed by Outlook and as such very complete. My father had a ZTE Blade and the contact app (which I assume was the standard Android 2.1 app) had a section to add birthdays to the contact info.
Facebook won't cut it since not everyone has it (for one many relatives and the elder).
Any chance to achieve this using the built-in app? How to synchronize them with the calendar? Or can I expect it in a future update?
have you tried using pc companion sync there are two sync option there, windows contact and calendar (actually I didn't tryed sync the calendar yet because it is grayed out here and I don't have outlook installed here)
or you maybe can try sync your previous phone outlook data to your computer outlook then install google calendar on your comp and sync outlook calendar to your google calendar account
