Contact name goes wrong

Okay, I'll try my best to make myself clear, English's not my native language.

There's something wrong with my contact, it's not just saving name of the contact, it's saving *everything* I type in the name boxes (well, name prefix, first name, middle name...) without clearing them after I'm done edit the contact.

For example, a guy's full name is Andy Gee, I mistyped it, to Andrew Gee or something, then fix it to Andy Gee, and I'm done editing the contact. After that, in Contact, my phone show that contact with the name Andy Gee (of course) and just under that is Andrew Gee (with the matter of fact that I cleared the name before). More than that, I can find Andy Gee by typing Andrew.

The more I mistype, the more messy the contact name become after saving

Now my contact list is a little bit mess because of that, many contact names begin with C now is sorted into A, B group.

Is there anything I could do ?

you mean even you use edit to corrct your mistyped contact both corrected and uncorrect contacts still shown?

go to setting>apps>all>contacts

clear cache and data force stop and reboot phone

this might delete all of your contacts

I saved my contacts under my Google account the whole time, now I have to sync then try your solution, then restore ?

if you sync them now your uncorrected contacts will saved also and will retorn after restore

did you sync them before?

I tried your solution twice, in the right order.

The first time, after reboot, I got a report that some google gapps that's not working, with unscratched contact list (everything's till the same, with the error I pointed out in #1 post) with wifi on, I thought my contact list was automatically synced with Google server (yes, I synced my contacts before)

The second time, things're still the same, nothing change, even making a whole new contact name (not just editing), that error's still occured.

It used to happen to me each time I bought a new phone. Try this step and hope it helps.

Phone book > Settings > Accounts & sync > Auto-sync data: uncheck the checkbox

If the contacts are synced with your Gmail account, it may be worth editing the contacts via Gmail directly and then syncing the contacts again.
