I brought a xperia tipo duel today and everytime I charge it the phone turns off and I cant use it. Is this normal? If it isnt how can I fix it?

Have you tried using more then one charger? If not, please try to see if the problem remains.

If it does it sounds like it would be wise to try performing a repair of your phone's software.
