Hi all,
I've had my Xperia X10 for 2 years+ now. Over the past 8-10 months or so, my phone had issues charging (it is no longer under warranty)...
The micro usb seemed a bit loose and needed jiggling about before it would charge. Recently I went to a 3 Store and the lady there tried a different charger. That seemed to work fine, so I purchased a new data cable. This worked ok initially, but it still struggles to charge at times. Weirdly, the charge % will go down, almost as if it's draining the battery, but this only happens occasionally. Carefully inserting the Micro USB as straight as possible seems to avoid this.
I decided to purchase a new battery. Still no significant change.
All I'm concerned with right now is the need to transfer photos/videos to my PC, but neither the old, nor the new cable works. At the moment, neither even recognizes my phone when connected. No 'mount' option appears. When I checked a few months ago, my PC recognized both cables, but claimed they may have been corrupted. My new cable was new and hardly used at this point.
Can anyone suggest how I can retrieve my pics etc another way?
...or does anyone know how I could resolve this cable issue?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Hi, a SD card reader should do fine, just pop SD card in and retrieve/backup data to your PC/Laptop. The other option is to insert SD card to another phone and then connect to PC/Laptop.
I have a strong feeling that the phone USB port is gone ....
