Cannot use phone with SIM

Hi everyone I'm foxy_posh26 from Philippines. My partner bought me a Xperia M2aqua as a birthday present. But unfortunately I can't use My Mobile phone without Wi Fi, if I insert the sim card it always says sim not registered/ sim is perso locked.
Is this mean that my phone is not open line?

Perhaps phone is locked to a carrier and the SIM is different.

Similar problem with my phone, suddenly message appeared "no sim card detected" same sim card what I was using for the last year or so, I had no problems with my phone till now. Is it common issue or?
