Cannot use music library for ringtone

Hello there,

I have seen this covered already however the answers do not solve my issue.

I have updated my phone and now cannot update my ringtone from my music library.

I do not have the music icon as advised by the Sony expert and cannot find file manager.

Is anyone able to advise me please?

Hi,

I have the same problem. I have updated my Sony Xperia S, I now can set mp3 as a general ringtone (I had to go to Walkman, choose a song, hold it for a little longer and then a menu should show up and then just click on "set as ringtone") however, I can't set mp3 as a specific contact ringtone, which I could do before.

Please help, if anyone knows how to do it.

Settings-sound-ringtone-music note(top right).Are you sure you do not have it?For the contact ringtone,go to call app,contacts,select contact,edit and scroll down to ringtone.

If you don't have the "note" in the upper right corner when you selection ringtone, you should clear defaults for "media storage". Go to settings > apps > the tab "all" > media storage > clear defaults.

When you shall select ringtone you should select to open with the app "sound picker" if you get an option.
