to boot into flash mode

press - vol. key and if that is not responding you must be running empty battery

if you have stuck boot look

keep and hold power key and master reset key(located under sim tray)

this way phone will turn off and all will be done

you can also use sony update services download here

which is specially design for phone who are not booting

to boot into flash mod use vol - key not vol + key

open any tool  you are using to flash when it says connect your phone in flash mode

turn off your phone completely

wait untill you fell vibretion and then press vol - (vol down key) no other key and then connect

i used volume down key (Vol - ) as mentioned in the PC companion tool but still cant boot into flash mode.

i tried force shutdown by holding powerbutton and volume up , after the three times vibrate it completely shutdown , i leave for about 10 second to make sure it completely shutdown. after complete shutdown i tried holding volume down (no other key) while plugin the cable , still no luck. the LED blink green , red , no LED.

remember one thing

there is no led either green red or any color in flash mod

so there wod be no led in flash mod if you connect flsh mod

so after connecting wait for some time

and if you are on unlocked bootloader then try use flash tool

dowbload ftf and flash thru flash tool

i will say this again. you need to unlock your bootleader again then flash stock firmware. once that is done, then you can relock your bootloader and update.

you are having issues right now because your kernel is not stock when you relock.
