Cannot connect PS3 controller with Bluetooth with xperia z1

Hi,

I have purchased a dualshock controller for connecting it with my xperia z1, I can connect it in wired mode. I'm able to go to the settings>xperia connectivity>dualshock 3 controller and successfully finish the procedure,, the bluetooth of my mobile turns on. As soon as I disconnect the cable the connection doesn't work.

What could be the possible issues, can it be because of a faulty controller? All replies appreciated.

Check that your controller is an official ps3 dualshock, if it's not it can only be used wired unlike it connecting wireless to ps3 console

connect via usb otg cable, the red led was blinking when i bought my first controller and it works. when i remove the cable, the led stops blinking and sleep. i've tried to reconnect it again and repeat several times but the light doesnt blinking and i went to the settings of the DualShock 3 it shows nothing. i did click the PS button but it does not respond. i've already swap my controller to the new one and it is still the same as the first one i bought today. what seem's to be the problem?

Hi I am using an official dualshock 3 controller and official cable to connect to my tablet z. Controller works perfectly via otg cable but when I follow the on screen instructions to pair wirelessly when removing the cable the controller lights blink and the controller switches off.

First make sure that your Tablet Z is updated with the latest firmware, 10.5.1.A.0.283. After pairing also try pushing the PS button on the controller.
If that doesn't help, reset the controller by pushing the reset button on the back using a pen or similar and then try connecting it again.

If this doesn't work i recommend that you try with another controller or another phone to see if this is an issue with your controller or phone.

Hi I've tried all 3 recommendations and it still won't connect wirelessly

Sorry to hear that.

You are sure that this is an original Sony controller? I've heard that 3:rd party controllers may not work.
If possible, try your phone with another controller or your controller with another Xperia-device to see if this is an issue with the controller or the phone.
If you are unable to test this or it turns out to be the phone i recommend that you contact a service location for assistance. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

If it's the controller i recommend that you contact PlayStation support: http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/PSN-General/Contact-Us-Playstation-Support-Number/td-p/183648...

PlayStation support refused to help me after accusing me of running custom firmware despite me running the official 4.4.4 version! I bought an xperia z1 last week and it has the same problem. Has anyone found a solution or do Sony plan on fixing this issue?

In order for us to investigate this i recommend that you contact a service location. I just tested it again on both Z1 and Tablet Z and it works fine here so it sounds like an issue with your tablet, cable or controller.
