Can you attach an external mic to Xperia T?

Would like to record sound using my phone using a better quality mic than the in-built - is it possible?

I tested recording sound (using the free version of AndRecorder) and a headset and it records using the microphone on the headset so it's possible. The microphone you use will probably have to be wired according to the CTIA-standard however.
