Can't Update (Australia)

Hi there,

I have an Xperia Z and have a notification that an update is available and I should connect to a computer to update.  When I try to update through PC Companion the updating process simply stops at the 'prepare' stage and the updating window disappears.  I've tried searching this forum for help, but I've still got no idea what the problem is.

Try to use SUS

Repair it with 

Update Service (SUS)

I've tried that and have a similar problem!  Update Service starts up but spontaneously closes after 'checking for updates'.  The process is the same each time I start it up.  Thanks for your help!

Just to narrow down the cause of the issue, please follow the below link and ensure you have the latest version of Java:
