camera problem after ICS (xperia mini pro)

just updated my xperia mini pro to ICS few days ago...

now every photo i shot with the resolution 5MP 4:3 got a wrong thumbnail...

but photos shot under the other resolutions (3MP 16:9, 2MP 4:3, 2MP 16:9) have no problems

and their right thumbnail as before ICS...

the wrong thumbnail seems not to be a problem of the viewing software on the mobile phone

because uploaded on the pc the wrong thumbnail is still there....

has anyone the same problem or a solution?

I checked this but I'm not able to replicate it. Try deleting the thumbnails folder on your SD card and then reboot your phone. Go to the gallery app again and let it recreate all the thumbnails and check if they become better.

thx for your attempt...but did not work...

i deleted the "thumbnails."-folder on SD-card> DCIM and rebooted...and started the gallery app...

but the mentioned photos still has a wrong thumbnail... and new photos i shot with

5MP 4:3 still has the wrong thumbnail....

I have the same problem. But then I replace the SemcCameraUI.apk with a modded one here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24147607) , then the problem solved.

Same problem:

Camera Problem:

By using Quickpic ... etc software to view:

1. SCN AUTO mode:  5MP 4:3 got a wrong thumbnail (After taking photo, I can immediate see a abnormal screen created)

2. Normal mode: 5MP 4:3 got a correct thumbnail

Video recorder:

1. 720p --> lag

2. WVGA --> smooth

When using internal player to play 720p and then WVGA, after viewing 3 or 4 videos, the internal player cannot open those videos anymore. Need restart the mobile to make it work.

Conclusion:

Don't update to ICS if you want the camera function to work properly.

Hi Johan,

     I also have this problem. I have upgraded my Xperia Mini Pro to ICS about a week ago (Vis SUS) and I'm experianced with this problem well. Then I did a master reset. But problem still was there.

After when I using my camera, i realized that problem ONLY come if Image Stablizer ON and resolution set to 4:3 (5 MP). You can also notice that when taking a picture after you captured it, a screen suddenly got blurred and quikly back to camera interface. When i browse my camera album via PC, i see that all images have thumbnails that I suddenly seen when taking picture.

Also notice that problem ONLY occured both Image stablizer ON and Resolution set to 4:3 (5 MP). I selected "Normal" in Scenes setting....

Note that this problem ONLY occured when relosution set to 4:3 (5 MP).

By the way, my mobile is xperia mini.

Anyway, I've flashed it back to 2.3.4

I have been waiting for ICS for a long time. Finally, it is just like a dream.

Except the camera and list scrolling lag, the rest of ICS is good.

Thank you for SONY giving me a chance to try this new firmware.

However, this update experience makes me feel I should not stay with SONY anymore.

you are right... after turning off the stabilizer, I got photos 5MP 4:3 with the right thumbnails...

with stabilizer and 5MP 4:3 it is exactly like your problem... ("when taking a picture after you captured it, a screen suddenly got blurred and quikly back to camera interface. i do not think it will work, because "kelumsd" did a master reset and the problem was still there...

it is a problem with the stabilisator working on 5MP 4:3...
