Camera has problem reading barcodes with neoreader

My Xperia E is not able to Scan barcodes with neoreader.

My model and a model in a Store have the same problem.

I tested it with a Xperia gio without problems.

The barocde is not sharp when i try to scan, but technical descriptions tell me that the xperia E has autofocus function.

I there any solution ?

Unfortunately you can run into this when the barcode is too small.

Sorry, but i speak about barcodes which are in normal size on packages and readed problemless with other xperia like gio or z in just one moment when the camera of them is detecting that there is a barcode.

The combination of Xperia E and neoreader is not able to read a normal sized barcode. Try it out at your reseller. It is not a problem of my device it is a fundamental Xperia E problem

There are a few possible resons for not being able to scan barcodes:

- the camera of Xperia E does not have auto-focus;

- barcodes can come in a variety of formats: see http://mdn.morovia.com/kb/Identify-Barcode-Format-10623.html for barcode formats;

- barcodes can be read using several algorithms, so your problem may be application-dependent.

Usually for reading barcodes a 5MP camera with auto focus is required, whereas in Xperia E the camera is only 3.2MP which cannot distinguishly see the bars on barcodes that is why you cant scan

Have you tested other scanners with Xperia?You'd better try some other scanners to see if the problem come from the app or your Xperia.
