I have the SONY XPERIA Z, but it does not manage to make 13Mb pictures. I found out that if I use App INSTA FISHEYE that can I can take pictures up to 4Mb. What am I doing wrong? The supplied CAMERA app of sony succeeds but to 2Mb max. And I bought this one instead of NOKIA LUMINA1020, because it could take pictures of 13 Mb DISAPPOINTING.
Do you mean 13 MP (mega pixel)?
The camera can't take 13 MP pictures if you have Superior auto mode or HDR switched on.
But if you select normal and turn off HDR you can take pictures in 13 MP.
The camera has a 13 Mpixel sensor, but that does not correlate to producing 13Mbyte picture files, and even not to capture images with 13 Mpixels. Images in .jpg files (and others) have been compressed. The compression is a distortive type, meaning that some picture information is lost.
The largest image file I have from the same camera (int the ZR) is at 3.3Mbyte. I must confess that I wish for a possibility to control the jpeg compression level, as this is lower than files from my ancient 5Mpix "prosumer" camera.

And what is the problem to allow 13MPx pictures with HDR?
Can any dev respond to this question?
Why not allow 13MPx in normal mode?
If not, Sony could at least allow to take 12MPx 16:9 pictures, I hate 4:3 as it has black borders!!!
I saw the same issue on Z1, so marketed 20MPx is for sure WITHOUT HDR and only 4:3!!! If you want 16:9 it have to be 8MPx only! Pathetic! So what's the reason for 20MPx if I want 16:9 ???
Is that such a problem Sony?
And where is the rest of resolutions among 8 and 20MPx in Z1 ???
What about numbers 9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19 ?

INSTAFISHEYE itself shows the same picture in his apartment like a fisheye with a rounding. This causes that he is very slow. But the original photographs are 3-5 Mb!
The photo are stayed intact. Located in the intern memory in the map of INSTAFISHEYE . To upload to facebook with a FILE MANAGER.
INSTAFISHEYE has no settings, hard to find. Too bad, I hope the creator will customize this.
It is in my opinion it's the chozen camera app who is responsible of how big they can fotograph
the included CAMERA app in the SONY XPERIA Z included can not shoot higher as 2Mb in my case.
CAMERA ZOOM is better. can take pictures up to 5,44 Mb. and better to use.
