Try Settings - Apps then swipe to All then locate and open Calendar and tap on Force stop and Clear both Cache and Data then restart your device and test
Did you swipe to all and the pre-loaded system calendar is listed as Calendar
I have just purchased the z3c, and I am having eactly the same problem, I have carried out the instruction as listed and carried out a restart to no avail, new to android so havent got a clue what else to try
This happened to my wifes z3c and a friends this morning, theyve both just come from iOS and are quickly getting frustrated that their calender app isnt working. Ive tried deleting the apps cache, data, and force quiting the app. Ive also downloaded google calender and this does the same thing as well. As soon as the app opens it crashes and the phone returns to the home screen.
Any help on this issue would be most welcome
I have also just received my z3 compact and registered on Wednesday..........same issue with the calendar!!
Anyone got a possible solution.PLEASE!!!
I don't know if this will help - but, it's what I had to do to get my Calendar squared away on the Z3C...
Go to the Play Store - and download Google Calendar. Once downloaded, set it up as if it's your default calendar (sync your Google Calendar, Exchange account - whatever..)...
Next - open the pre-installed calendar - and you'll see every works - or at least it did in my case...
I think I then uninstalled the Google Play calendar (I'll check later) - and everything was still fine with he pre-installed calendar.
Let me know if this works for you, OK?
Best,
John D.
Ive finally sorted the problem out. This is what I did:
Go into settings and scroll down to apps, select apps and swipe the screen across to show all apps.
Scroll down to Calander Storage and select. In the app info screen press the 'Clear Data' button.
Press the back arrow button next to app info a couple of times to put you back into settingsand scroll down to accounts
Turn off auto-sync, select ok this should turn off any accounts that sync to the phone including calander sync.
Turn auto-sync back on, select ok. This should re-sync the calander app.
Exit out of the settings and try opening the calender app.
This worked on both the phones that were having the problem so hopefully itll work for you guys.
Amazing Spike76! That did the trick 🙂
