C5302 XPERIA SP 4.3 LAG, HANGS, CRASHES, RESTARTS !

The phone is C5302 still on the older 12.1.A.0.266 even though it's updated, not the latest one that came out on April 2 2014.

I've only had the phone for a short amount of time, like 3 days and man this 4.3 update is really bad. I wish I never upgraded, biggest mistake ever. It's very laggy and unresponsive, the keyboard takes forever sometimes just to show up.

I've had a few random restarts as well. One earlier this morning where the screen faded out, like the pixels were breaking up before my eyes. Faded to black and restarted.

There's no reason for a phone of this spec to be so lag prone like this. This is just bad software. SONY, do something about this, it's just not normal. I don't know what else to say, it's just NOT normal!

650MB USED - 189 MB FREE WITH NO APP OPEN?! IS THAT NORMAL?

RAM usage sounds pretty normal to me. I generally have about 200mb free. Depends on what's running in the background.

I would suggest downloading SUS and trying a reinstall with factory reset. Then give it time to update via Play and reboot. Be sure to back up first as this will wipe your contacts, call log, etc.

If it's still bad, you can always downgrade to the previous firmware version.

I have about 150MB RAM free constantly, with no apps running (or anything that I have started). By the way, it doesn't matter how much free RAM you have. The important thing is how the phone uses it. The more RAM it uses, the less the time needed to open apps, eventho none of them is running or turned on by you. RAM usage isn't an issue except if you experience performance issues because of it (like slow opening of Facebook or idk, YouTube, which is still around 3 to 5 seconds). Remember, you didn't buy a flagship. This is a mid range phone, and for sure it won't get the treatment from Sony thay it deserves.

SONY needs to fix this properly, I don't want some ghetto work around. SONY has the ability to fix this properly, they are just lazy. You hear me SONY? You are lazy! Hurry up!

"Ghetto workaround" - love it.

It's not really, though - you're just going back to the old firmware that works better for a lot of people.
