Hello, I own Xperia Z. It was purchased in T-Mobile in Croatia a few months ago.
2 weeks ago I decided to clean the speakers with toothpick because they were dustsy. Easily I've cleaned up top speaker by slight movements. After that I tried to clean the bottom speaker. When I touched the edge of the screen where the speaker is located with toothpick, two lines appeared on the screen. I could not believe that the screen is cracked. Xperia worked couple of hours and suddenly when I touched the screen there was no reaction on any part of the screen. Since the mobile phone is under warranty at T-Mobile I took it 10 days ago, and today got feedback from the authorized service center: the screen is cracked by physical damage, speaker does not work and need to be replaced, the battery needs to be replaced, the antenna does not work ... I just can't believe that something like this can happen to mobilephone that cost almost 700 euros.
Can someone explain how could that happen? How can screen crack like that and what does it have to do with speaker, battery and antenna?
This is a normal property of this phone. Sony will blame you, because it is your fault you bought a Sony phone...
This is a manufacturing fault. Sony won't admit it. Read the other screen crack topics in this forum.
In Netherlands, the consumer watchdog already publicly asked Sony to repair this within warranty.
Make sure everyone in Croatia on forums knows this. Also for the Z1 since it will likely have the
same flaw. There are even petitions online with some 700 users signing it, to force Sony to
admit this manufacturing flaw. And yes, the screen on mine cracked by itself also.
Don't buy Sony again.
I can't belive that's happening...Service want 350 euros for repair!!!! Is there anything I can do? Certainly I will complain when I get my phone back... 😕
