brand new Z1 compact won't turn/power on !!

hey everyone,

 I just bought a Sony Xperia z1 compact online from a Dubai based website. I was so excited to receive my phone today and after i reached home i connected my phone to the wall charger for approximately 30-45mins. And then when i tried to power it on the phone wouldn't turn on. Whenever i connect it to the charger it shows the Sony logo and then Green light which i suppose is for a fully charged battery notification.I am so **bleep** worried now !!

Please let me know if any one of you experienced something similar ? Also, i will try to keep it on charge for another few hours.

i tried this earlier and the phone had somehow turned on. i then updated to 4.4.2 and after that it was still the same thing. i noticed my power button and volume keys wont work . if the phone goes to sleep then i have to struggle to wake up the screen. i guess its a hardware defect. will send it back and request for a new device.

but this is seriously disappointment from sony !!!

I am unable to send it back because it was an online purchase. I think I'll decide to get it repaired, the flex cable needs to be changed. That's what I was told in the mobile service shops
