bluetooth problems, pictures problems ect :o(

i got my new phone yesterday and i love it but i must admit im having some problems with it

1st my bluetooth, other phones cannot find my phone even though i can find them, i have made sure the bluetooth is turned on and it is visable but still nothing.

2nd when i go to set a picture as a wallpaper it ask's me to crop the picture, but sometimes i dont want to, i would like the full picture. even though i do crop some once i go back to my main screen it seems to have zoomed in even larger and im losing half of the picture.

3rd can i change the theme? i cant seem to find anything on the phone that states 'themes' i do not want it blue, i want to change it.

any advice would be very helpful

Hi there.  Can I ask what you have X10 biggun mini or mini pro? 

On the themes front you can't change the stock SE blue apart from in Timescape you can change the colour of the background but it is very limited.

You could download a different launcher... something like ADW launcher is great, incredibly flexible with loads of freebie themes available.  If you go this route I'd also suggest downloading the app Home Switcher first... it lets you really simply switch between your launchers 'Home' will be the stock SE one, ADW will show up on there and also Timescape as you can set that as your default.  It is really easy, it just takes a minute to download then an hour or so fiddling with it to make it look as you want (acutally you can spend the rest of your phones life modding it up cos its so flexible and customisable)

On the bluetooth front have you tried downloading the Bluetooth File Transfer app from the market, it does seem to make it easier.  The phones can do it - you just have to get the knack right.

On the wallpaper thing I'm not so sure so maybe someone else will chip in.

Also have a look in the box to the right More Like This which gives you other threads that may have the same keywords in them and hopefully some useful advice.

i am having the same prob with my bluetooth i can find other phones and pair to them but it will not transfer, any ideas

i joined the sony group on facebook and posted something there asking the same thing, sony themself replied and said that the phone does not support bluetooth but when andriod 2.2 comes out it will. daft eh?

Well I managed to transfer over 100 songs from my old mobile to my X10, all by bluetooth. And then i tried bluetoothing them from my X10 to my old mobile, by bluetooth again. without any problem. On your other issue downloading apps from the market is easy. You need to have gmail email address to access the market, and only have to sign in once and never have to actually use the email. Then all you have to do is click the bar at the bottom of the screen and click 'market'.You can then search for anything you're looking for.

hi, thanks, i dont suppose you know anything about the picture problems do you? i want different pics in different albums but cant seem to do it? also i have downloaded the bluetooth transfer file thing from the market, i can send to my boyfriends phone but he cant send to mine even tho his is very similar. only way i get stuff off his is to use my phone and tap into his phone

Android 1.6 has limitations over blutooth. By the Bluetooth ftp application by midevial software you can transfer files from and to another mobile. The fact is that you will have to do a copy paste play.

In case of wall paper if you are using xperia x10 mini or x10 mini pro then the screen resolution is 480 x 320. Change the dimensions of your photo in your pc to this dimension and then you dont need to crop photos on your phone.

Theme change is not available with android 1.6 default launcher. Try ADW launcher.

Hey Gem, go to your market and download a file manager Astro or Linda are the ones I use.  You can then create an album folder within your Picture folder on the phone. You can then select and move the pics you want into that folder.  For example in my Picture folder on the SD card I now have 2010 Odds n Ends, 2010 Summer, one for my dog 'Meg', one for my son etc etc.  The pictures I take with the camera go in to the DCIM folder then 100Andro so I just move them around every once in a while.  Just makes it all a bit easier on viewing and finding them rather than one enormous camera roll.

On the Bluetooth front, your bluetooth needs to be on, you need to be discoverable and you need to then pair with your partners phone.  I don't have a spare phone here with me to run through it but it is possible.  You may have encountered the problem of your partners phone sending you a photo and it being saved to the SD cards main file rather than the picture file as mentioned above.  Its only once its in the Picture file that mediascape can see it.

hi just wondering...

ive had my phone for about almost a month now..
(its the xperia mini pro{U20i}) my wife has the same but its a {U20a},  we have tried 2 transfer photos to eachother via the bluetooth...
it wont connect from phone to phone.
Comes up with OPPS error or something and yes we do it in discoverable mode etc.
and it still wont send the photo...
and we have the file transfer program ... any ideas on how to fix this issue?
