Hello,
after the Update to Android 4 I can not pair my Arc s with Toyota Avensis Bluetooth (2010). With the old Android 2.3.4 everything works fine. After searching the Toyota Bluetooth Kit and I try to Connect I get a message "FAILURE" from the Toyota Bluetooth Kit. I try to repair the Phone with Companion but the problem is still the same. I can not connect the Arc S with the Bluetoot Kit.
Sony Support doesn't know the Problem. Has anybody these Bluetooth isue too? Does anybody know how I can solve the Problem?
Thanks for your Help
I have noticed that an Update to Android 4.0.4 has been released. I don't have the update (not Available for my Arc S) but can anybody confirm if the Patch does solve the Problem?
Thanks for your reply.
No, the problem persists. I have the Neo (mt15i) but on the network there are reports that confirm the permanence of the bug. In my case (android 4.0.4) the problem exists.
Now I could run the Update. I can also confirm that the Problem exists after Update to Android 4.0.4. on Arc S. I don't believe that. Sony please create the patch asap.
I have the same issue, my live with walkman was working with my car stereo (hbuster 9450) and now after the update, i cant pair them.
I found a workaround that works with the Blue&me ...
Coupling Bluetoot:
Some Bluetooth devices send authentication code for pairing and is enough to consent. This works with ICS, tested with the PC.
Other devices, often older or cheap, require password entry. This works, tested with a bluetooth mouse.
Others require code generation. Again this case xperia with ICS works, tested with bluetooth keyboard.
The Blue & Me seems to be a hybrid, the phone is ready to receive the code but do not get because this has to be entered manually. The main problem should reside in the handsfree, but also ICS has a bug, because after some time would still require the manual entry of the code, which is still the standard method.
The Workaround:
1) Turn on bluetooth on your smartphone and open a contact card.
2) Start the pairing of hands-free of the car.
3) When the blue & me asks for the code, send the contact via Bluetooth: The phone searches for other devices. Selecting "Blue & Me", you have the opportunity to enter the code presented on the dashboard.
4) Now Blue & Me will ask you to copy the address book: Select "Yes".
5) In the notification bar of smartphone is prompted to connect bluetooth: select "do not ask for more" and accept the request.
Now the blue & me work like with gingerbread.
Sorry for the bad English, administrators should feel free to correct mistakes and to notify the temporary solution to people who need them.
Of course it would be a welcome a patch on firmware, it probably will not work in all cases.
The method is tested on an Alfa Romeo 147 with "blue & me nav" and a Xperia Neo (mt15i), Android 4.04.
Hi all.
I don't know if this workaround would work on Alfa Romeo's, but this is whay I did on my Toyota to get it working.
As it has been said, the problem with ICS is that the phone will not ask for key/pin when connecting. This is because in headsets, ICS first tryies to "autoconnect", just trying default passwords "0000" and maybe "1234" (not sure of this second one). If it fails it should ask the user for a password, BUT, in my car (toyota verso 2009), this causes connection been refused so no possibity for entering the correct pin/key.
What I did (I dont know if in blue &me is possible): connected another old fashioned phone first. Once added, then I can get to the bluetooth setup on the car, and I can change the key for connection. Changing to "0000" will solve the problem and ICS will connect with no issues.
Hope this helps.
Hello,
I read this solution, but the hands-free "Blue & Me" does not allow changing the code. This is imposed at the beginning of the procedure and is a random code.
Hello,
I can also confirm changing the pairing Key to "0000" in the Toyota HF KIT is the temorary Key to Success. On my Avensis 2010 the Bluetooth connected with no issuses. Thanks for the Information alfito!
@Johann: When can you give us a small patch wich make entering a different Pairing Code possible?
The update actually broke this functionality in my case. The original ICS release worked perfectly with my Volvo V60, but after the update the phone book and the call log is not available any longer. This is a shame. I have to downgrade....
Hello I have same problem with bluetooth on Citroen C4 GP and Sony arc S. Maybe is problem because phone send six-digit pairing code (I found it, when I connected Sony with other phone via Bluetooth). But I can't change cone in car.... Is any possibility to change pairing code in phone?
