I just noticed now that in my Xperia M's battery, the sony logo is printed at the centre and "BA900" is printed at the bottom but in all the pics and videos I saw online the SONY logo is at the bottom. Do I have to be worried about the genuineness of the product?
The layout of the battery may differ depending on when the battery was made. For me this seems to be legit but if you want to get it confirmed you should turn to a service center. Please contact your local support for information about a service center near you. http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/
Thank you. I'll try that. The doubt arose because I checked at the online stores, google images, and review as well as unboxing videos of Xperia M and in all of them the SONY logo was printed at the bottom instead of the center and "BA900" at top left.
I visited a sonymobile service centre like you said but the people at the service centre had no idea about how to check if the device is genuine or not.
Even the people sitting at the authorised service centre do not know to identify if a SONY device is genuine or not...
