Battery overheating

My Xperia P overheats when phone signal on HSPDA drops to minimum and it doesn't switch to Edge. The signal strength is very weak compare to my daughter's Galaxy Y using the same Telco. Can the signal strength power be increase?

GSM and WCDMA uses different frequencies, the kernel is so built that even the weakest WCDMA signal is held on to, this consumes more battery. If you dont have problem using GSM only, try selecting GSM only.

Does your daughter use the same network provider?

does this kind of problem occur to all users? i mean almost everyone is using gsm/WCDMA but choosing this option will it? or can it really make our battery heat up?

Hi florenzgonzales,

I think I also have the same problem. If my network singnal is too low it consumes more battery power. So I think it is true.
