I Got Xperia U 15 Days Ago It Very Nice n Attreactive Phone Loving It.Bt 4m 2-3 Days It Starts Giving Me Battery Problem.It Works Properly For 2 weeks.Bt Now It's Battery is Draining Fast.Yesterday I Charged It 100% Before Gng To Sleep.After Charging It I Used Net For Apprx 10 mins Then I Go 4 a sleep.When I wake up i saw its battery Remaining is only 48% everything is off on it like data cnnctn,wifi,bluetooth,auto-sync,facebook etc. When I Se Battery Graph Its Showing Me Baatery used in Dispaly 55%,Android Os 10%,Cell Stanby 9%,Phone Idle 6%,Android System 4%,Reccomnder 2%.Is It Hardware Or Software Problem?plz Suggest a Solution.

I have a similar problem.

I have been using my Xperia U during a month more or less and sometimes the battery suddenly drops to 0% and tuns off.

The serious case happen yesterday when the battery goes from 65% to 0% suddenly. As I had installed an app called Battery Monitor Widget Pro to log the battery behaviour, you can see it:

That last time it happened when I was viewing a youtube video using wifi, but woke up the phone was off:

Someone knows if it is a problem with the battery or with the phone? Should I send it to repair?

Another observation: Live wallpapers eat battery (I changed the Earth wallpaper which is preinstalled with another from market) and the life of battery is improved. And be aware that even if some battery app shows 100% in fact the voltage isn't at its max level. "Battery snap" tells you everything about your battery and its life. I use another app who notifies by sound when it's fully charged and that's after 10-15 min after it shows 100%. Letting it all night plugged (but closed) didn't make any difference.

suggested not  to use power saver app. disable all its options. as per my experience it launhes some processes when battery falls below certain level and eats up battery further and also heats up phone.

Have you observed any heating when battery is falling ?

I too had same experience and have posted about sudden battery voltage drop. It also heats up a lot when battery drains fast. I believe it has something to do with power saver app prloaded by sony. I did not see this problem after disabling all options in power saver:smileygrin:

I discovered that if I run Nav Free World on my Xperia S whilst also having the phone plugged into the 12V car charger, it doesn't actually charge, or rather, after about 20 seconds, watching settings/About phone/Status/Battery Status, the status changes from "charging AC" (yes, that IS wrong!) to "discharging".

This for me is a really serious failing. Whilst driving from Cheshire to North Wales, my phone shut down due to flat battery, and I had to manually navigate using a map(!).

I can see no reason for this happening, other than a huge bug in the software/firmware.

I purchased Sony Xperia U 4 days back. Initial 2 days it was giving only 14 hours with minimal usage.

Yesterday I visited service center and got the software updated and got rid of all unnecessary software (e.g. RAM booster, Box blah blah). I only told service center guys to keep minimal applications.

I got amazing result. Its giving battery life as per my expectation (1.5 to 2 days)

Now I understand what i did wrong. While purchasing the phone, the store attendant has loaded the phone with bunch of free software (which are paid otherwise).

I solved this issue changing my sim card... for some reason my sim card drain the battery on 3 xperias that i had tested. Try change your sim card =D.
