Battery Drain and Android

Hello,

I bought this phone (Sony Xperia L) very recently... On the first instance, I charges my battery for 8 Hours and it reached 100%. But it seems its not sufficient for my battery and drains out very fastly... I am not a rough user, used to make few calls, watch video for 10 - 20 mins. Browse for 30 mins... Like to know whether i should charge my batterY for more hours or its having a faulty battery.

2. When can i expect Android update - Right now its is 4.1.2. (JB)

Regards,

To better understand if there is a battery issue or not you have to tell us

- Total battery life (starting from 100%, full charged) with your use (few calls, 20 minutes of videos, 30 minutes of internet)

- Battery consumption when you xperia is in stanby (with GPS, Wifi, 3g off)

- If your xperia overheats (remember that overheating during web browsing, gaming and GPS use is normal)

Remember that data connection always on and all other antennas are very battery dependent, expecially if you have apps that are using connection in background (IM apps, push emails, games with banner/ads)

Last sony official statement

So, Sony’s Jelly Bean 4.2 upgrade for Xperia Z and Xperia ZL is well underway* – next up, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z will start receiving 4.2 from early August.

Yesterday you probably saw Google announce the next version of Jelly Bean (Android 4.3) – we’re already getting stuck in and can confirm we’ll make 4.3 available for: Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia SP and Xperia Z Ultra…

We’re also looking at uplifting some of our other devices running 4.1 direct to 4.3 – we’ll share more info / deets / timings when we can, so be sure to follow @SonyMobileNews for all the latest.

As you can see Xperia L isn't in the official list for update to 4.2 or 4.3. So is possibile that 4.1.2 is the last android version for our Xperia L. We can only keep hoping.

Anyway in my opinion 4.2 and 4.3 are only minor releases without important features. So is more important a bugifix update (for camera for example).

Prooflink please?

If you mean this http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/506245/20130916/android-4-kitkat-os-18-smartphones-tablets.htm#.Ukpi5...

link... well i would not rise my hopes just yet until i get the an oficial word from Sony.

Hopefully Google releases 4.4 soon and then most likely we will see vendors responding.
