Battery charging problem with Xperia M

Hi,

There are two problem i am facing since I bought my phone (oct'13). 

Problem:

  1. Battery does not charge immediately after usage. One has to restart the phone and then only the battery charging starts.
  2. Data transfer from PC to phone via USB cable fails after few files being transferred. (verified with multiple SD cards so, there is no issue with SD card)

From these two problems combined,seems the usb cable could be the issue.
