backup & restore doesnt load - PARSE error?

have tried all ways to restore my phone after the disaster upgrade and subsequently losing everything - i have installed OI file and astra, and have got a zip version of backup and resstore onto SD but i cant open it any way, i always get 'file not restored' or 'parse' or parsed error???? i dont understand and am beside myself as i need to get back my info urgently..... i know my backup file exists on the sd card as when i mount on computer i can see it in the files (i hope everything is still there and I can get it all beck)

so installing the app works just fine correct?

if so then when you restore your phone don't try to restore everything at once, do it by parts, i.e. just apps, or just sms, or mms, or contacts.

No I don't think I explained myself v well! The backup and restore app won't download because it can't parse?(whatever that means?) if this is really complicated and technical I'm worried I am gonna make a cock up of it 😕

How to install it

You need to

go to settings -> applications -> check unknown sources

download IO File Manager

download the backup & restore app, transfer it to your SD card, use OI file manager to find it -> tap on it -> install it

Been trying to get the backup & restore app on the phone all day with no joy, as kept getting 'not installed' or 'parse error'

anytime, I know there are users that have issues with the mediafire one and some others with other versions for some reason
