I've searched the forums, and I didn't find what I was looking for.
So, how to back up my XU?
I've done it once using the PCC and I didn't like it, so I'm looking for an alternative.
There are a ton of different apps on Google Play for backing up your phone. Personally I've used MyBackup and it worked as a charm.
Hi
i'v sony xperia U 4.0.4 i found the Backup&restor app is great but the problem is after i backup my data via that app
i want to sell my mobile I make a factory reset bu the Backup&restor app still have my data which mean the other could restore it any tim.
1- is there any way to remove my backup data ?
2-when i us Backup&restor app as USP storage it doesn't work
thak you for your time and attention
1. Yes, the data is stored at the media memory, so in order to remove it you need perform a factory reset and include the internal storage (Settings > Backup & restore > Factory data reset > Check the box for internal storage > Reset phone.
2. You mean USB? If you want to store the backup on a USB storage you need to connect an USB memory via OTG to the phone.
Thanks for the answer.
I downloaded My Backup on my XU, and I've done the backup to sd card. I know this sounds stupid, but is this safe? Will I be able to restore everything from sd card after software update?
Well, as I'm sure you understand I can't promise anything, but as I mentioned in a previous post I've used MyBackup myself and it worked well. All the data I backed up was restoed just fine.
Thanks.

Yes, there is a backup function in PC Companion as well. PC Companion is found on the link below. Regarding USB storage being disabled, see my previous post on why.
