Pay to get it replaced or replace it yourself or claim on insurance if you have a policy. It's very unlikly the retailer or sony would repair it free of charge as it would be seen as "wear and tear" or "miss handled". It would be fairly easy to replace yourself however if sony found it to have been repaired at a later date by an unothorized source it would void the warrenty and i doubt it would be waterproof/resistant anymore (which is questionable to start with).
I just checked what @JP_72 posted all over the forum, he said that HE dropped the phone.

I am 43 years old and have owned many cell phones. I always take care of my phones and any that I have owned could withstand a simple bump or drop from a low height. This phone, however, ended up with a severely cracked display a couple days after purchase. There were no quality protective cases available for this model, so I was left to buy a flip case. The first slight drop and the display was majorly cracked. So here I am with two years contract on a very poor quality phone. I would not recommend the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua.....unless you live in a bubble.
I did. They are no help. Just want more money to fix it.....so it can crack again.
Sony Cell phones are garbage. My screen cracked a couple days in. First phone I ever had this issue with......and I dropped ohers plenty times.
Hello. My name is Joe and I just bought a piece of crap Sony Xperia M4. The display cracked after just three days.....where other phones i have owned have never had this issue.
Amont other insulting posts, this is not acceptable, I understand the frustration of having a cracked display, it has happened to most people at one time or another, but we have to respect the forum rules/guidelines

Self cracking can be assessed in authorized Sony service centers, they will look for points of impact or other dents/scratches in the phone. There are some definite patterns of cracks that will indicate a self cracking glass. So my advice is to contact your Local support and let them examine it.
For other claims that Sony has poor screens: I've been using Xperias for more than 5 years now. I owned Z, Z1, Z2, Z3, and Z5. I dropped them accidentally more than one time, it happens. I never ended with a cracked screen of back panel. May be I'm lucky but still it may prove that these phones are not fragile as people claim. It all depend on the angle of impact and the surface it dropped into.
One thing you have to bear in mind: Sony design code is using glass on back panel on flagships, this means "double" the probability for a crack upon dropping compared to phones with plastic back panels.
