Back button not working after display change

I got display of Xperia Tipo replaced, and the technitian told me that he has calibrated touch as well.

Everything is working fine, except for the back button, which intermitently does not work. Sometimes it works and sometimes does not.

Is this a software issue or a hardware. Can this be fixed without going to the service center (I want to avoid going there as it's quite far away)?

I checked out for software update. It shows that there is no update available.

You might want to try a software repair to see if that improves the button.I do not think it is hardware,if you say it works from time to time...

Thanks for the reply. I just realized that after getting it back from service center, I am not able to connect it to laptop. PC Companion is not able to detect the mobile!

I took the phone back to them, but now they are not able to resolve the USB connection issue. Even after 3 weeks they don't have any clue what's wrong in the phone. USB is just not working, although charging via USB is working.

Now, since USB is not working, they are not able to resolve the software problem related to back button not working.

The technicians are not well trained to resolve such issues.

Although I can live without USB working, but fixing the back button issue is important (which seems to be a software issue).

Can you tell me is there a way that without using USB, can I fix the sotware issue? Is there any android application (or something else) which I can install via wi-fi and then check for any software issue and resolve it?
