Automatic optimization makes the sound dull?

After using this on the MH750 earphones that came with my XZ, I prefer to have this option turned off. Somehow the sound becomes a bit dull with it being on. Anyone tested with this feature on or off? I keep ClearAudio+ and Dynamic normaliser on with the rest off since those work best with Spotify on my car audio.

The features all depend on headphones used.
I have the NC750 that I bought with Z5 and the DSEE HX sounds rubbish with them but auto optimisation sounds exceptionally brilliant.
Likewise at home I have some h.ear on 100AAP headphones that auto optimisation sounds bad on but DSEE HX and clearaudio + sounds great with.

Hmm, did you turn ClearAudio+ on when using auto optimization on the NC750? I tried auto optimization on my Klipsch in-ear too and the feature doesn't do much, or make much of a difference. IMO, ClearAudio+ on headphones is a bit rough but works well on larger speakers. I much preferred the headphone selection that was in the Z3...at least selecting one of the Sony headphones made my Klipsch sound brilliant.

Strange that my subject line was edited by someone else...I wasn't generalizing the feature to all headphones, just the MH750.
