Auto rotate not working!?

Hey all well Ive recently had my z2 tab (3g model) which is a brill bit of kit with plenty of power

However I've noticed the screen will no longer rotate which is becoming really annoying

I've had tried all sorts of things like resetting. Hard restarts, turning screen rotate of and on. also combining that with restarts etc..

Still nothing.!!

the OS im running is; 4.4.2  10.5.A.0.230   (apparently the tablet and sony pc software says its the latest firmware)

Boot the phone in safe mode,see if the same occurs:

I have tried factory settings. and booting in safe mode, still no joy

Is there an app I could test to see if the gyro is working? maybe the machine is of fault? just seems strange it was working when I first received it with 4.2 installed..

Is there a way to roll it back too when I got the tablet to test it?

You could try a game for auto rotate,or the movies app.

Hi, 

You can test the gyroscope and the accelerometer if you open the phone app on the tablet. Press *#*#7378423#*#* > service tests > accelerometer/gyroscope.

Not too sound stupid but .... phone app??

cannot see one. Is it something I need to download

another issue. cannot sign into google account and am getting untrusted page flash up when ever I try too...even play store....

 Now fixed this it wasnt picking up date and time hence so it threw a wobble on. Just need to sort the rotating now

Hi, 

If you don't have the phone app in and you can do as following to access the service menu: 

Open the Contacts app and go to Settings (3 dots icon in the upper right corner)

In Settings for the Contacts app, press in the area above the home, back and recent apps button at the bottom of screen (3-5s), until you get “Enter service code” box, tap it to get a dial pad.

Now you can press keypad combination: *#*#73556673#*#*

When it comes to the Google account problem, have you tried to add the account under settings > add new account > Google?
