Auto Brightness

How to test if my auto brightness is working?
I feel it isnt working, so I did a system repair.
After system repair, i still feel it doesn't work..
I tried the system test, the sensor is working fine.

Have you placed a finger over the sensor or shone a light at the sensor to see if the screen dims etc

Yup tried that, just to be sure, the light sensor= ear proximity sensor?
