contacts loads slowly and when data network is switched on it starts the actually 3g very very late.
well there is no way in helping the contacts, but to make it work faster, i use xPhone. Its an app on google play store , but its not free
you might want to get a new SIM card

I experience the same thing. Why isn't it easy to get back old version and skip IOS, this sucks.
