Apps in memory

As we know the apps we use are stored in memory so they open fast next time, and the tab bottom right shows the list of them.

My question is when you switch off the phone completely are these apps still meant to show? I always thought that when a phone is switched off and on again any app cache would be refreshed.

I tested this and when phone came on again the same apps were listed in memory.

Yes, I do know they can be removed manually from the list.

Hi @cobbler,

The apps will turn off when you shut down your device. However they will autostart when you turn on your device again. In order for the apps to no longer appear in the Running tab under Settings > Apps they will have to be manually closed.

When you say manually closed you mean like I mentioned earlier by going into task manager which is the right hand side square and then either hitting each cross or by swiping each one across.

Or of course the orange circle which closes them all at once.

You can close the apps either by pressing the square at the bottom of your display and swiping a specific app to the side or pressing the icon to close the all at once or by forcing an app to stop by opening it in Settings > Apps > Running.
