App to SD

Is there a way to save Apps to the SD card to free up space on the phone as my phone was saying low disc space to I bought a bigger SD card and now i realised that it will make no difference and I cannot download new apps still as the apps are being saved on the phone.

I have done some research and there seems to be an App2SD application but I am unable to find it on the Market.

Could you give me some advice as to what app I can use or where I might find this app so I can clear up space.

If your phone's Android version is 2.1, you will not be able to move the files to the SD card.

The ability to move it to a SD card is available from Android version 2.2 and above.

They have not created version 2.2 to be compatible with the xperia x8. 

I have tried to download that app and it has not worked.  Is there any other way that I can do it?
