App icon gets stuck between home and multitask key in landscape mode

Is there anyone who have this glitch(?)on their XZ? Whenever i flip my phone to landscape mode, there's an app icon (in my case it's the meme generator from under9) located between the home and the multitask on screen button.

I have tried uninstalling the app 1st, nothing happened. I then tried factory reseting the phone but the glitch came back after few hours (the phone's reinstall most of my apps including that meme generator)

It doesn't affect any performance but it's kinda annoying seeing that icon when i'm watching some videos

Also it's been a while since i last used sony companion on pc for backup/restore (my pc companion for Z1 compact can't seem to finish all my backup, thus i resorted to manually backup each file) and all my photos seems to restored on the date that i restore the backup, not on the day i took the photos? Is that normal

you can remove the app from your google app list on Google plays store. so when you restore back it wont be included

Weird, when i 1st got the phone 3 days ago, that icon seems to stuck there for 2 days until i reset it last night. i was going to take a screen shot but the icon's gone

Maybe i should just uninstall and remove the app from the list just to be sure and wait for a few days

Hi @nano_said, I'm sorry to hear about that. Slightly_frowning_Face

As @nolramlb wrote, if this happens again. Please provide us with a screen shot of the icon being stuck between the home and task buttons.

Is the app installed in your phone now again? Or did you uninstall it?

If you experience the same behaviour with the app in question (meme generator) or any other application I'd recommend that you try and reset the Xperia Home application. This will remove any icons or folders that you have manually moved or created on the screens in the phone. So if you have a certain order or similar it's advised to take a few screen shots so you can add them in the correct place again.

To restore the Xperia Home application go to Settings > Apps > 3 dots > Show system > Xperia Home > Storage > Clear data.

Regarding the photos when you restore the backup it depends on the application and how it reads the file(s). If it goes for file created or file changed.

We are no longer supporting PC Companion so I'd recommend that you instead use our new program Xperia Companion which is available for both Windows and Mac.

Keep us updated! Slightly_smiling_Face

does the build-in backup & restore in the backup & reset settings also changes the files? Because after restoring from Xperia Companion, i used the phones' restore (which i saved in the SD card) because i thought it will help restore my Xperia Home so i wouldn't need to rearrange the icon on my home screen all over again, and it turns out it doesn't restore to my previous arrangement

here's the screenshot, i i don't how to upload via mobile so i went to the PC.

Notice the app icon just stay there and occasionally appears and disappear.

The app has been uninstalled and also removed from my google play store app list.

I'll try resetting the Xperia Home, resetting the Xperia Home only affect the arrangement of icon on the homescreen right? or will it also affect the arrangement in the app tray(?)

@nano_said It should reset your home layout. This usually happens when you transfer a layout from one phone to another.

Thank you for providing us with a screen shot. Slightly_smiling_Face

The photos are also changed if you use the inbuilt backup & restore function and then restore the same backup.

I'm not familiar with that specific icon but it doesn't look like the one for "meme generator" in Google Play store, is that the same app that apperared at the same place before or another application?

When you clear data for the Xperia Home application your order in the app tray will also reset, so if you use the function to arrange your icons with "Own order" you will have to move them again after the data has been cleared.

Let us know how it works after resetting the data for the Xperia Home application.

It turns out it's not the meme generator but another app from under9 called memeful. I reset the xperia home data and uninstall the memefull app but i try to reinstall the meme generator out of curiousity and the stuck icon is now gone. It turns out both apps shares almost the same icon and i got confused. The problem is solved.

So, it is better that i use the xperia companion to restore backup files if i want to to kept the same files without changing the files' details

Thank you for the help
